I was back at Extreme Tan And Smoothies today, this time I was trying out the OC Ten X tanning lotion.
When I walked into the salon, I literally had people telling me that this was their favorite lotion.
I wouldn’t say it was my favorite lotion, but I wouldn’t say that I disliked it either. The scent was okay. I’d put it in the same boat as the Jet Blaque. I didn’t really like it, but I didn’t dislike it either.
I really liked the lotion going on, but after tanning, I wasn’t so excited with it. Part of the reason is that it did seem greasy to me.
The bottle claims instant results and I have to say that when I stepped out of the tanning bed, and looked at myself in the mirror, I did look tanner already. The quick results come from the five kinds of bronzers they use in their formula -DHA, Erythrulose, Carrot Oil, Walnut Extract, and Caramel. To tell the truth, I really don’t know what it all means, but I d like the results.
A couple of other things that you should know about the lotion.
It contains five accelerators – “amazingly potent Tyrosine derivatives enhance your ability to tan while maximizing UV absorption. Energizing – Dark Tanning Results are enhanced by the surge of energy and oxygen to your skin during the tanning process.”
It also has a Anti-Cellulite/Skin Firming formula. The anti-aging/firming ingredients help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while tightening and improving the elasticity of your skin.
OC Ten X als contains Dimethicone which is a skin smoothing ingredient leaves you silky-smooth and velvety soft.

Over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to be reviewing some of the hottest tanning lotions out right now. I’ve been pretty much using the same lotion for a while now so this gives me an excuse to try out some new lotions, so I’m pretty excited.
First up, I gave Couture Sport a try. It’s an “extreme tanning serum” and I’m all about anything extreme. The serum formula makes the lotion absorb into your skin instantly without a mess. It has extreme tan enhancers so that you can get the darkest tan possible. It has Ordanone to elimite the after tan odor that no one likes. It also contains Matrixyl which is a target anti-aging complex to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
It also says that “for decades, the amber-bronze tan formula of celebrities has been one of the best kept secrets of Hollywood.” I really don’t have a way to verify this, but next time I run into Lindsay Lohan or Jessica Simpson, I’m going to ask them about this.
I really liked the tan that this lotion gave me. I haven’t been tanning indoors for a while and this lotion definitely helped me give me some nice, defined color right away.
As a guy, I really liked the smell of this lotion. I had some people that use this lotion say that the smell was a little overwhelming when you’re applying it to your skin, but it didn’t bother me. It’s has a light, fresh scent that reminds me something like Reation and Cool Water colognes combined. Not saying literally, just what it reminded me of. I liked this lotion so much that I didn’t want to wash it off when I got home from the tanning salon. My girlfriend said that she liked the smell too.
As far as the “extreme tanning serum” it didn’t really seem to be less greasy than my current lotion. It really didn’t make any mess, but it didn’t stand out to me. But maybe that’s just because I don’t have much to compare it too.
Either way, it’s definitely a lotion that I wouldn’t mind using on a regular basis.
