After going through the grueling test phase, documentation phase and review phase of the private label process we had the first two lotions make it to the design stage. I introduce to you, the first two private label indoor tanning lotions by Extreme Tan and Smoothies.
Pale to Perfect
Pale to Perfect is a highly effective indoor tanning lotion that will provide instant dark tanning results as natural bronzing agents interact with your bodies natural proteins. Hemp and Macadamia seed oils will leave your skin moisturized, healthy and silky smooth.
Frost
I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to test and create “Frost”, as an indoor tanner and tanning salon owner that loves cooling tanning lotions this was the perfect lotion for me to work with. I’m not a big fan of tingle lotions and prefer the “cooling effect” any day of the week, Frost is a tanning lotion that contains bronzer and what I feel is the perfect level of cooling on the market. You would be surprised just how tough it is coming up with names and the descriptive text for the label, but it’s a blast! Here’s the text I came up with for the bottle design.

Once the first batch of lotions are delivered I will post a few pictures here, I might even include a few pictures and some information in regards to how we are going to release the new Extreme Tan and Smoothies private label line into our Tampa tanning salons (well #Tampa Bay). The process of getting the private label for the Spray Tan Can done didn’t take very look, which is a good thing based on the fact that I don’t really have a tremendous amount of patience when it comes to waiting for tanning products. Once the initial Spray Tan Can order arrived we pushed it out to each of our six Tampa tanning salons. I have to be honest when I say that the response to the first EExtreme Tan and Smoothies private label tanning product has blown me away right from day one.
I am very excited to announce that the new Spray Tan Can is the fastest selling sunless self tanner that Extreme has ever stocked, it surpassed the original Ed Hardy spray tanning can that set initial records during the 2008 tanning season. The popularity of the uvfree Spray Tan Can caught me somewhat off guard, as a matter of fact we are waiting on a backup order as the initial 144 piece order is gone. I HATE being out-of-stock, HATE IT!
Extreme Tan and Smoothies making the announcement that we will be coming out with our own exclusive line of products. Being a small business owner one of the things I work diligently on is finding new ways to save our customers money, hardly a new twist but certainly something that’s important in being successful in this day and age.
Private Label Tanning Products
One of the things I have been looking into is working with a lab and putting together our own specific product lines that would be exclusive to Extreme Tan and Smoothies locations, currently six locations in Pinellas County Florida with three new locations on the way. It didn’t take very long to decide on a lab to develop our exclusive product line and getting the packaging together was pretty easy (thanks to Dawn my designer), we were able to put together the first product design in no time and we are VERY excited about it.
The first Extreme Tan and Smoothies private label indoor tanning product to hit the shelves is the new “Spray Tan Can“, the new sunless spray tanning self tanner is scheduled to hit the shelves early next week. We are already in the process of formulating a few other products for indoor tanning such as our own exclusive bronzing drops and tingle drops, properly named “Bronze Shots” and “Hot Shots”. Our exclusive Bronze Drops and Hot Drops can be added to any indoor tanning lotion for either super deep dark tan bronzing results or a plateau breaking tingle to take your tan safely to the next level, here’s what the label designs look like.

I am still in the very early stages of putting together the private label package for Extreme Tan and Smoothies, with over six years in the indoor tanning industry and listening to the feedback of 1000’s of indoor tanners and associates I feel confident that we will put out one of the highest quality lines around. As I get further into the process of private labeling I intend on spending more time discussing the topic of private labeling and how to go about it in your business, private labeling will be a win for Extreme Tan and Smoothies customers, the business and the lab. It’s a win, win, win. Very rare in business that’s for sure.
Tanning n’ Smoothies closed on April 1, 2010 after a long run of servicing indoor tanning customers in and around Largo and Clearwater Florida, please note that Tanning n’ Smoothies is in no way affiliated or part of Extreme Tan and Smoothies. Late last week I received a phone call from the owner of Jimmy confirming that the tanning salon would be closing for business on April 1st, Jimmy expressed that he would like to have a solution that would keep his current paid customers tanning.
